Pandas can live there safely, without danger. Some pandas are later prepared to live in the wild again. This place gives hope because it help save pandas from extintion. Thanks to this center, more pandas are born, and people learn how to propect animals and nature.

Hachiko was a dog who lived in the 1920s and 1930s and became famous for his loyalty to his owner, Professor Ueno, who died suddenly in 1925. From that day onwards, Hachi (his real name) waited in vain for him every day at Shibuya Station for 10 years. In 1935, Hachi died of a serious illness; the year before, in 1934, a statue had been erected in his honour.

His story has been the subject of several films and books that remain famous to this day: in 1987, the first film, titled ‘Hachiko Monogatari’, was released, chronicling the beloved dog’s life from birth to death, whilst in 2009 a remake titled ‘Hachiko: A Dog’s Story’ was produced.

In our view, his story conveys a message of hope because Hachi never stopped remaining loyal to his master, even though he never returned to Shibuya Station.
