I feel like a fair minimum wage for employees working in California and nationwide in the U.S., especially those who work in the food service industry would be $18 an hour. My thoughts on the new Minimum Wage Ordinance that was passed by the Seattle City Council on June 2, 2014, where the worker's wages were raised to $15.00 per hour is great because workers deserve to get paid good for their hard work. My thoughts and personal opinions on the new California legislation signed into law by Governor Newsome that caps the 2023 fast-food minimum wage at $22.00 per hour is okay because I think that $22 per hour is fair enough to make a living wage. I don't think this is too much for an employer to be paying for a fast-food employee because they are big corporations and have enough money to pay their employees more. I feel a fair wage to be paying a fast-food worker in California is $20, especially in this economy.

I am surprised to see how low the minimum wage is in many States of the U.S. as compared to that of California, or other States with a higher minimum wage, such as Massachusetts because it is so little. I think this is fair that the decision on the minimum wage should be decided by the individual States because not every state has the same economy.
