This is a true statement when it comes to educators. We learn from what we observe and implement those ideas into our profession. For example, in my previous job, I worked closely with the school counselor. In my job now, I use some of her ways in my profession such as, how I approach my colleagues when things are not going well, how talk to students when I have a problem, or how I speak to parents when something is going wrong. I practice what I observe.

I believe this to be true because teachers pick things up from all over. Experience is observation. One of my professors once told me that good teachers should be thieves. They should pick up every strategy and tool they can along the way.

I believe this to be especially true. I think educators have a unique role as all teachers were once students. I am still a student! Our varying perspectives allow us to connect with students by understanding their role. In addition, the way we teach is not random. There is always an influence. I can personally attest to previous educators who have influenced my teaching style. I can also say that my own family dynamic and popular culture has influenced my light, and silly demeanor with students.

I think I connect with these beliefs as I value teachers and students learning together. As mentioned in the article, these beliefs emphasize dialogue, discovery, and discussion to support meaningful learning.

I find this belief to be true in my own teachings. I have seen more results when I soften my demeanor with behaviors and use nurture to uplift students. Their responses include willingness to participate, even though they are fearful of making mistakes. The more caring I am, the more decline I see in negative behaviors. With this, I also see an incline in student engagement.
