I took on small writing projects and looked for professional opportunities that allowed me to stay home. I was able to work as an adjunct instructor at a community college and provided the opportunity to teach writing classes online. I put in an application for NCVPS, and I will never forget the day they called me and offered me a position teaching Credit Recovery English 3. I was so excited to teach American Literature and high school students again. While it was a lot of work, it expanded my understanding of the online learning space and put me in a great position to join the NCVPS Curriculum team full-time in 2015. We submit our master courses used by teachers throughout our organization as a means of quality assurance in order to ensure alignment with state standards, user-friendly interactivity, and digital accessibility. We work closely with our lead teachers to prepare our courses for the peer review process. We hear anecdotally that the QM process helps teachers in their instructional practice.
