For architecture, it is difficult to tell accurately with language. So we usually use models or sculptures to express ourselves. It's a special kind of language, a visual language for what we see, or what we want you to see.

Yukihiro Akama created a complex wooden house, the building pictured here, which combines the style of an Asian stilted house with the textures of perhaps native English wood. Vernacular architectural models use trees with smooth surfaces. But he used the traditional Japanese technique of burning a layer of carbonized material on the surface of wood with an airbrush. This method moistens the wood against termites

About the contribution, Because it's hard to describe in language, the texture of the building, the texture of the sculpture. Visual culture can directly express Yukihiro Akama's ideas and the world in his eyes

more details：https://ysp.org.uk/exhibitions/yukihiro-akama-ki-no-ie

She applies her background to surface patterns and printed textiles, using subtle colors and delicate details to create expressive textural depictions of the English countryside and coast in paint. A Yorkshire Conversation praised Burrows' artwork for exploring many of Yorkshire's lovely and charming places, and she allowed the viewer to follow her back to her "grassroots". From her back garden to the North Yorkshire coast, there are many brushstrokes that depict Yorkshire's unrivaled human landscape. These beautiful landscapes are the human heritage of the region, a memory for many, and a gift from nature.

The theme of Annie Montgomerie’s work relates to childhood and the emotions intertwined in that precious stage of life.
Creating the atmosphere of an old school photograph, Hand Me Downs will house a collection of British animals – cats, dogs, foxes, lambs and rabbits, together with some more exotic species – each bringing their own experiences and personality to the group.
Annie creates child-like figures with expressions, conveying an amplified range of mental states that a child may experience in different situations. She used a series of visual figures to show the cultural connotation of the hope that everyone should pay attention to children's mental health, without using any language. That can be the contribution of visual culture.

Date of exhibitation:
5 Nov 2022–26 Feb 2023
https://ysp.org.uk/exhibitions/annie-montgomerie-hand-me-downs

Kneebone’s sculptures do not depict the full human form, but allude to the body through the use of a mass of legs appearing to be in motion, often shown in relation to organic forms such as flowers and orbs. Clay, and its more refined form of porcelain, have been used for thousands of years to make objects for the home and for display. Rachel Kneebone has developed her own unique form of sculpture, working primarily in porcelain to create highly complex and delicate objects.
The artist is concerned with the society of the spectacle and the simulacrum to present her ideas. Inspired by Ovid, who was expelled from Rome for his insight into the human condition and his creative and destructive impulses, the artist created this 399-day work of art as an expression of his social thought. In addition, the artist's innovative design pushes the boundaries of new materials that push visual culture into new territory.
