On the hike, we met a great guy from England named Sam. I forget why, but his friends call him "Bags." He runs a fitness bootcamp at Southend-on-Sea just outside of London. We've remained friends since the hike, sharing stories and life updates. Not long after we returned home, he sent us these "vests" (we call them tank-tops in the US) so we could represent "Bags Bootcamp" on the other side of the globe. I was humbled by the overwhelming number of people who reached out to support us in the hours, days, and weeks that followed— providing meals, rides to appointments, bedside care, even giving us a place to stay for the first 3 weeks so that we did not have to manage the stairs at our home. It would be impossible to single out any one person.
