The boys father's health is a concern when their mom talks to them about family changes in nutrition. All this, to help their father, who does not like going to doctors.  
Josh does his part to help keep his father in line.  His grades are great, his game is on point and as far as he knows, this thing with JB couldn't last.  Josh experiences a reality check when his father has a mild attack.  This wakes him up, but neither boys tell their mom what happens. 

]]> 2020-07-12 18:22:42 UTC https://padlet.com/noekha1228/np6f4wfcjxne8lb3/wish/652702604 Third Quarter noekha1228 https://padlet.com/noekha1228/np6f4wfcjxne8lb3/wish/652702688 In this quarter, the boys are discovering that while they share a love of basketball, they don't have the same priorities or goals.  JB's interest in developing a relationship with Ms.Sweet T.  cuts into Josh's time with  him.  Josh, while liking girls too, does not understand why his brother is so caught up, or why his brother is not making basketball #1.
This separation of attentions has driven Josh to deal JB a head injury that puts him on the outside of his family.  His mom tries to understand him but must deal Josh a blow that should wake him up out of his single minded behavior. Josh still does not understand what is going on with his brother, his father or his game. Josh gets suspended from playing ball.  Without basketball, Josh seems lost. He tries to connect to his brother, but JB is hurt emotionally too. Josh ask his father for help with JB, he is given good advice.  JB;s ball game is getting attention, Josh can only watch. 
Signs of their father's health issues cause their mother to push their father to see a doctor.  The boys don't realize something is changing.
Despite their parents intervention on the boys not speaking, JB makes it clear that he knows Josh apology is empty. 
Josh writes JB a sincere letter and things improve.
