Money does not make happy they say, but I am convinced that money can certainly make you happier. There are enough problems that can simply be solved with money. Think of insecurities, debts that you still have and needs. Money = less problems = more luck. Sometimes money can make even happy, this depents on what kind person you are. One is happy when he has a big house, the other is only happy when he has a home. Except that money brings beautiful things, it can also cause harm. You can become addicted to money and this can neglect your social contacts, it can provoke jealousy or envy with your loved ones and it can make you less appreciating life because everything is available so quickly for you. A good example are the Kardashian: in their reality show 'Keeping up with the Kardashians you follow all their purchases, struggles (which can usually be solved with money) and you see how the biggest and most expensive parties are built.

Family is a word for the people with whom you share the same blood. Family is what you can build on when everything is against. They are there for you and support through thick and thin. If you told me this in the first I would believe you, but now I am laughing at you. Half of my 'family' I do not speak to, even if we meet each other we act as if we do not know each other. The word family has no specific meaning. One hates his family while the other can not wait until he sees his family again. I experience family as something unexpected. You do not know if they are your best friend or your enemy. Also, some friends can feel much more like family than your real family. Each person is different, and has different intentions with you. It is not a matter of course that your niece gives you everything, sometimes she can even be the one who stands in your way.

Getting married, it is a popular topic in Moroccan culture. And no, I'm not talking about the fables of forced marriages at the age of 16 but the beautiful and big parties. I really want to get married, and hope when I am 24 to marry a dear man who is very good to me. I think that there is a maximum of 2-3 years of age difference between partners, and the man must always be older than the woman. Since women are already adults at a young age, the men then have 2-3 years to get to the level. Marriage is a promise between two people and their love for each other and I find that so beautiful. But what I like even better are the dresses we wear. We have 3 Moroccan dresses and 1 white dress, and we wear them all on one evening. The food is also delicious, a 4-course menu with dishes such as fish pie, smoked meat and delicious desserts. In short, a Moroccan wedding gives you wedding fever.

If you watch and listen to the song Meli meli from Ali B, ronnie flex & Numidia (see link below) you can see how a Moroccan wedding is arranged.

In my opinion death is more than a heart that stops or a soul that disappears from a body. It is a deadline that you miss and can no longer catch up. You can no longer be with your family, and make them happy. You can not solve the quarrels that you had. And most importantly: you can not ask for more forgiveness for your sins. In Islam, death is precisely what determines your destiny. From that moment on only your sins and good deeds count. No money, no clothing, cars, power or beauty that can save you. Even your limbs will turn against you and confess that you have sinned. You are not worth anything anymore, everything is open and exposed about you and nothing that you can say or change to your life. Death is something unexpected, so you can not actually prepare. I can not say that death is something negative or positive, that is different for everyone. However, I can tell you that the person who attaches too much importance to worldly life sees death as negative. Vice versa.

I am 17 and am currently working as a cassiere and box filler at the Jumbo on de Baliendijk, Breda. It is a fun, well paid job with lots of variety. Sometimes I help customers at the counter and at other times I am busy in the warehouse. You learn how to deal with time pressure and how to guide a group of box fillers and get them to work. You must adhere to certain security rules at the cash register so that no fraud or theft can be committed. There are cameras everywhere and this makes it a bit more exciting, but as long as you do not do anything wrong, you do not have to worry about yourself. I have been working for almost 1 year now and am glad that I have applied for it. I have learned how to deal with my own money, and have become independent from my parents for many purchases. First I was not allowed to take a job from them because they gave me enough money and according to them I was too busy with school. But those few hours a week fit well with my schedule.

I believe in Islam, and so I am Muslim. I can find peace and stability in Islam. The Koran is a clear book with all our rights, duties and advice. There are 5 pillars that every Muslim must follow, and 6 pillars that you must know. Islam is not a violent faith and certainly does not do things from the name of coercion. Everyone is free to believe in Islam, we must even take good care of the people of the book. Women are not inferior, but more valuable. That is why they sometimes have other rights, but certainly no lesser rights. A woman is free to travel, work, eat or go out whatever she wants as long as she adheres to the rules of Islam. This is exactly the case for a man. Ultimately, it is your own choice whether you believe or not, and faith must come from your heart and not from coercion. To get a better picture of different perspectives on the Islam of young Muslims, you can watch the program 'Moslims like us' on BBC. A program with 10 totally different Muslims, each of whom expresses Islam in a different way.

Bullying or being 'exposed' is an everyday problem nowadays. Enough victims who commit suicide every day because they can no longer cope with life. And although the reason was not such a big thing, it was the drop that let the bucket overflow. Watch out what you say and to whom you say it, you can hurt someone and even bring yourself into trouble. Do not go with the flow to come across tough, be the chicken between the roosters. This can at least prevent someone from taking their own lives. What I can not understand is how can you be so mean and heartless to someone who literally does nothing to you? Who begs you daily to stop your behavior? Who is completely broken physically and mentally by you? How can you continue as a normal thinking person? What is wrong with you? A good example is 13 reasons why, it is about Hannah a beauty of a girl who eventually sues after months of being bullied. And only then do the bullies realize what they have done, even then they have the guts to say that they are not responsible for Hannah's actions. Weak, very weak.

The evil eye, typically something Moroccan. I also believe in it. The evil eye is the eye of man that makes a product or man more ugly because he or she has not blessed it. There are two types of evil eye:
Unconscious evil eye. This is very common, imagine person A has a new car and goes by car to person B. Person B is very happy for person A and also says in her head of 'Wow, really a nice car'. Because that person B did not say to A herself that she has a nice car and she is blessing her, it is possible that person A will soon have a problem with her car. An accident or car trouble for example.
Conscious evil eye. Person A has cut her hair and dyed it and she is very beautiful. She asks person B what it looks like, which obviously reacts with the fact that it is beautiful. But in her mind Person B thinks' if I had such beautiful hair, I do not bless her. She must always be better and more beautiful than me. Because person B in her head does not bless it, it is possible that person A will soon have hair loss.
That is why we should not show off our new or beautiful things, it may be that someone does not bless you.

I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but am of Moroccan origin and I am from the North of Morocco: Tangier. My parents were both born there and came here with their parents at a young age. It is a very tourist area, I go there every summer and then come (almost) only Dutch (also from Breda) against. You have plenty of fun activities, eating places, clothing stores, saunas and beauty parlors. And all for a bargain price. In Morocco I really relax, the feeling of finally vacation and being able to enjoy without spending too much makes me happy. I once watched a program on NTR.nl about Morocco, it is a Dutch program but you can use English subtitles. The program is called ‘Groeten uit Marokko’

and consists of 4 deliveries and each episode takes place in a famous Moroccan city. The first episode takes place in Tangier. Tangier, my place to be.

You see it often enough lately, young boys who die from a shooting. And what about the quarrels? Money, drugs and other fornications. Why would you risk your life for more money? On the one hand you can just start working at a supermarket or somewhere else, but on the other hand, I understand that they are not waiting for a monthly salary with very little. They are looking for day salaries where you earn a monthly salary in 1 day. But they do not only risk their own lives, but also those of their family and friends. If you do not pay on time or do not keep the agreements, they can visit your loved ones. I think the topic is an interesting subject, and that's why I also watch the series 'Pablo Escobar' on netflix. You see how an innocent Pablo comes behind the subject and becomes addicted to fast money. He is a great example for many children. Partly because of him, black work has become a big thing.

Since childhood I have been dreaming about doing something good for the world, something non-profit. Since every year I go on holiday to Morocco and it suffers from homeless people (children) I would like to set up an orphanage to start in Tangier (my home). It is an orphanage for all types of homeless, of all ages women (+ children) and men are separated for religious reasons. The homeless get shelter, food and drink and there is also some entertainment. Furthermore, there is teaching and I want to try to help the homeless to work. Until they find work they can stay in the orphanage. If it becomes a success in Tangier, by this I mean that I have sufficient ability and the homeless people really participate in education and work. I would like to extend it further in the rest of Morocco. First in the nearby cities, and then try to expand in the big cities (where there are many homeless people). Organizations such as Unicef or The Red Cross give me even more motivation and inspiration to continue my plan when I am older.

I am in my HAVO school year and that means that I am going to study next year. Despite all the uncertainties in my life, I found a suitable study. Studying law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. I always wanted to become something with which I could help others but also could talk a lot and enter discussions. Lawyer is the right job. I have also often read that Erasmus University Rotterdam is one of the best business schools. So that's good. Economics, management and organization and life expectancy are my strengths. I therefore think it is wrong to drop them and then go for rights. I am therefore thinking of studying fiscal law, so that I can still combine the piece of law with the piece of economy I manage. I find it exciting and difficult to make a choice, imagine that I do not like the school? Or the study? That is what I am most afraid of. But I just hope that I make the right choice and that I will not regret it.
