I was told that during my infancy, I often played with and ate things I wasn’t supposed to. My parents always tells me the story of when I played with the buttons from my father’s wallet and accidentally swallowed one, which eventually sent me to the hospital. Thankfully, the doctors said I would poop it out in a few days and that I would be alright. To this day, my family still teases me by saying I had ‘expensive taste’ even as a baby.

During my Early childhood, I was very playful and loved playing outside. I remember always getting scolded by my grandparents because I would not go inside our house to take a nap during the afternoons. With my playfulness, I also got careless, and got scars on my knees from tripping and falling whilst playing outside with the other kids in the neighborhood.

During Preschool, I was an achiever in my academics. I always raised my hands during class, had good scores on my tests, and always participated in dances and singing competitions. Nothing made me happier than seeing the proud look on my parents’ faces when they see my high scores. I graduated kinder with 9 medals, though unfortunately, I was not able to attend because I was so sick that I vomited every hour.

At this period of my life, I was always moving schools each year level. I moved to Taguig, Caloocan, Surigao, and then flew abroad to Qatar to be with my OFW parents who were expecting a baby girl. Initially, I was only supposed to have a vacation there, but when my parents gave me a choice to stay or to go back to the Philippines, I ended up staying abroad for 6 years to be there for my new baby sister.

Currently, I am in adolescence. During the start of this stage up until now, I had always been on a quest to figure out more about myself through my peers. I had a lot of phases, spent with different types of peer groups, who I have a piece of each that make my current self a whole. Each group left me with memories and lessons that I carry with me, whether good or bad. In the end, I feel like I’m slowly piecing together who I truly am through the people I’ve met along the way.

Speaking of fish, I used to have 11 goldfishes that my dad got me. He read me a Dora the Explorer storybook as a child, and there was a page where it said that I needed to make a wish. I wished for goldfishes, and then the next day, my dad came home with the fishes. Such a cute and heartwarming memory.

I don't get sick easily. I haven't run a fever in 2 years. However, I somehow manage to pick up illnesses instead. I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism during 4th grade and ended up drinking medication for 6 years. This summer, I got diagnosed with Renal Tubular Acidosis. Just my luck, I guess?

I found the subject Personal Development to be extremely helpful. Through this subject, I was able to learn how to be more introspective and understanding of other people. I personally loved the first two lessons which are "Knowing Oneself" and "Developmental Stages of Middle and Late Adolescents" because it introduced us to the concepts of furthering our understandings of ourselves and what stages we went through in order to reach to our current selves. Overall, I learned that each person is complex, that no two people are ever the same. Hence the need for oneself to put in effort to understand themselves, because they are the only ones who truly can. Only then will one grow.
