He was a little man with a high voice, dead eyes and a black heart. Infamous killer “Pee Wee” Gaskins was the definition of a human paradox. At first glance, Donald Henry Gaskins looked harmless. "But his barely 5-foot-5, 130-pound frame packed a lot of meanness. He confessed in 1978 to murdering 15 people and burying their corpses in three Pee Dee counties. At least four of his victims were 15 or younger."

At age 11, Donald Gaskins quit school in discontent, and began working on cars at a local garage. While working there, he met two boys, Danny and Marsh. They were all around the same age and freshly dropped out of school, so they teamed up and called themselves “The Trouble Trio.” The newly formed trio burglarized homes, picked up prostitutes, and even sometimes sexually assaulted little boys. They would then threaten the little boys so they wouldn’t go to the police.

In 1946, a girl who knew Donald Gaskins interrupted him while he was burglarizing her home. She struck him with an ax. He managed to get it away from her, struck her in the head and arm with the intent of killing her with it, before fleeing the scene. Luckily, the girl survived the attack. On death row, Gaskins spends his last 15 months confessing his life of serial killing to a journalist. These memoirs form his autobiography, ‘Final Truth’ in which he explains he has a ‘special mind’ that gives him ‘permission to kill’. Gaskins claims to have killed over a 100 people. Many of his claims cannot, however, be verified.He never once expresses remorse for his actions. On the day of his execution, Gaskins tries to delay his execution by slashing his wrists. With stitched wounds, he’s placed in the electric chair.
