Weather on google maps-> find out whats happening in the world. and what the weather is around you so it can help you determine what you want to do that day. 
Traffic on google maps-> See if the route you want to take is blocked so you can find a different route. it can also help to track what areas are good to avoid.
 Calling: a pad that is put on your wrist to see a screen like an I-pad
(Circuits Travel up your fingers t control it with a flick of the finger).

Space:
NASA has been using Virtual reality for years to simulate and train their astronauts in order to improve their mental health and behaviour once they actually make it into space- this is because they become familiar with the isolated environments.

Entertainment:
In 2016 it was made possible to upload and view 360 degree videos on video streaming platform Youtube. Also, theme park Thorpe Park now has a virtual reality horror ride for amusement purposes.

Recreate the Battle of Hastings as accurately as we know it for people to experience, or a representation of London in the 12th Century.
Preservation of art and literature: Higher and higher resolution images allow us to scan and preserve art, statues, literature before they can deteriorate permanently. By storing digitally we can share and upload these online for the world to view.

Alternate displays: Ways to display digital video constantly evolve/change, from TV to smartphones to 3DTV, to 4KTV. Flexible screens and holographic displays are in development for future release, their uses will be greatly more variable than just displaying movies and TV.
In 20 years, I reckon a potential use of video technology will be for video-advertising on things like bags and clothes, if not just having video-capable clothing in the first place.

For the future technologies, I predict that technologies will be better than today in 20 years time. I believe that people will rely on technology more.

Screen recording software allow people to create video tutorials with anything from how to fix a computer to how to use various illustration or animation programmes. This is done by creating an image by image sequence that can then be uploaded to YouTube or a similar website for viewing by another person at another time, no matter where they are.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
VR projects will soon be able to simulate multiplayer situations within a single environment, thus making human interaction possible without the need to be physically with another person. This is done with tracking software that would plot the location and movements of the other player.
 
 
Advertising new technology and software has become much easier, with YouTubers making videos constantly and showing off new games that are available to a totally open environment. This makes accessing said software much easier and usually draws a larger audience. These videos are made much like the first, though contain links to the games or other software so that the viewer can access them directly.
 


 
Use for future- preserve and study documents so they aren't lost. See them without losing quality through ageing
