For the music specials program, the conductor that i chose was Julia Wolfe. It said that she draws inspiration from folk, classical and rock genres, bringing a modern sensibility to each while simultaneously tearing down the walls between them. I read about her and she sounds pretty cool. I really enjoy the games on Classics For Kids. 

Last time you told us to look for a music period and I chose Modern Period. On lesson 2, you told us to find a composer. I chose Julia Wolfe and she plays modern music. Julia Wolfe was born on December 18, 1958 in The USA. What I like about this composer is she made her music more realistic and more dramatic. And the musical period that she lived in was the Modern period.

There are birds that have a high pitched chirp and a lower sounding chirp, some dogs have a higher sounding bark and a lower and deeping and much louder bark. I can also hear the leaves brushing against each other when the wind blows making a very light soothing sound. I feel like this ties into music because a long time ago tribes could have used these sounds as beats in their background of dancing a singing or they could have also used nature to decorate their hair and add pops of color. Tribes could have also used nature to make their own kind of instruments like using wood or finding really thick sticks to make a flute or recorder or making some sort of guitar by using bigger pieces of wood.

    That’s how I think of music in nature.

There is so much music in nature, the warbling of a bird is musical on it’s own.

My favorite music genres are pop and rock. The two bands that I like are
TryHardNinja and Abtmelody. What leads me to believe that I like those genres are my two favorite songs. One is Dead But Not Buried by TryHardNinja. The other is Monster Crew by Abtmelody.

There is one main connection that all of the instruments had in common. They were either made from metal or wood. Based on the pictures I noticed that most of the wood instruments had a few holes in them, this made it like a recorder or even a flute. Based on that I think those instruments evolved in what they are today like flutes, recorders, etc.
I don't quite know what the instruments made from metal evolved to be? I think that #8 the tutankhamun's Trumpets might have evolved to be a Tuba or Trumpet. I think that because, it is long up until the part at the end where it bulges out to look like a funnel. Trumpet's and Tuba's both do that in a different way. The Trumpet has a lot of twisted up metal and then a funnel like opening at the end. The Tuba also has a lot of twisted metal up until the end where it looks like a funnel.
