Taiwan turned out to be quite similar to what I have expected except that it's not cold

I would say that Taiwan is obviously bigger, the food isn't really my cup of tea and they have more small shops as compared to Singapore, overall I would say there are more small businesses here and I rarely see residential buildings unlike in Singapore

Two things that I hope to achieve by the end of this trip is to understand Taiwan's culture better and to learn how to read traditional Chinese words better.

One concern that I have for this trip is the natural disasters such as earthquakes.

I hope that I can make new friends and understand the culture better.

Difference: In Taiwan, all signages are in 繁体. But in Singapore, it is mostly in English.

3) Singapore and Taiwan both have public transport such as MRTs and buses. Taiwan have more shorter buildings without needing to cram the buildings together compared to Singapore, with tall and tightly packed buildings.

1. What are 3 things you are most excited about for this trip?

The first thing being able to travel by myself. This is the first time I’m traveling abroad without my parents’s guidance. I have to take responsibility for my belongings and well being. I think that this would be an unforgettable experience for me.

The second thing I’m most excited about is being able to discover new things and widen my horizons. I would be able to go to museums, learn about Taiwan’s culture and history. I’ll also be able to experience what the daily lives of the students living in Taiwan, where I can visit different schools and get to make new friends!

The last thing that I’m excited about is just being in a different environment. By going to Taiwan, I am stepping out of my comfort zone to experience something completely different, which I find absolutely fascinating and hopeful about. I am excited to get to learn lots of cultures, history and make new friends here

The first thing is definitely self independence. I hope that through this trip, I can learn to be more independent and responsible for myself, which will greatly help me in future if I have to travel by myself again

The second thing is improve my Chinese. I hope that through daily interactions with everyone, my mandarin speaking would improve and be better than before coming to Taiwan.

Qn2 My impression has changed as there were many modern amenities thay came from foreign countries such as Starbucks.

Qn3 They are similar in cuisine taste, and different in the language used and temperatures.

No, it not only has not changed but surprised me because being able to experience it first hand makes everything so much better. The tour guide in Taiwan was so bubbly and full of excitement every time he speaks.

3. What are some similarities or differences between Singapore and Taiwan?

One similarity is that the streets in Taiwan is as clean as Singapore’s. Taiwan adopts sustainable living to fight climate change, which is something worth commending.

One difference is that everywhere I see it’s all in 繁体字, which makes reading the words harder than the usual simple Chinese I see in Singapore

也发现他们一个班只有十几多个人而且一个年级只有三个班！！

在和芳和实验中学，令我意外的是那里班上就十几人，不像新加坡一个班三十多个人。

我很惊讶台湾学校班上的人数不多过 20 个人，是个很小的一班。

原本，我认为芳和的学生会很害羞，但经过了这次的经验，他们非常的欢迎，开朗。

我惊讶的是跳舞的活动只是一些

运动。

云门舞团很酷而且他们不是很死板的舞团，有很多创新以及把感受淋漓尽致的用艺术的形式表达了给观众

我们也去了芳和实验中学，遇到了那里的同学。我没想到那里的班只有10几个同学，而且没有规定的发型，女生能披着头发上学，而且可以染发。这让我感到意想不到。

-意想不到：原来舞蹈没这么容易而需要很久的练习。

-见证了芳和实验中学的热情；他们介绍了台湾小吃等等

芳和的学生好友善，今天舞蹈练得很台上十分钟台下十年功

云门好好玩儿下次一定要再去一次

同学们都很热情， 他们的校规和我们的天差地别。

我在云门体验到了他们伟大的舞蹈文化和魅力。那边的老师非常的热情，他们耐心的解释和教导我们云门的历史。

在芳和的学生非常的热情和积极地和我们交流。我在交流中也和他们学习到。我之前没有想到那边的学生会那么热情的招待我们。

学校：

• 跟很多学生交流，多了解了他们的文化

• 我看到了他们吃午餐时自己带可重复用的餐具，觉得这很有趣，因为在新加坡我们大多数的时间没有这样做

在学校交流时，我为想象到中学生能够染头发，两种性别也有各种各样的发型，让我很惊喜。学生都好热情，我非常的开心

今天一路上你看/听/闻/吃/触碰/感受到了什么？有什么是你未曾想象到的？请与大家分享一件令你意想不到的事。

今天最令我难忘与快乐的是第一次去云门学跳舞。我们有了很棒非常厉害的舞蹈师教我们很多表演技巧，让我感到很惊喜。刚开始一直嚼得自己跳舞不行，但经过舞蹈老师耐心的教导下，我成功把动作跳起来了。我们今日也去了芳和实验中学，那里的老师与学生都非常热情地招待我们，令我感到很惊喜与感动！

- 我看到舞蹈老师的身体能够那么灵敏，到她能够不用肩膀把脖子扭个前后左右。

- 我学到云门舞集是一个让演员们练习和表演的舞台。

- 他们的舞台很特别。除了有黑色窗帘以外，还有自然背景，让演员们更有灵感。

- 我从中学到了把自己身体往后弯差不多九十度，需要挺胸。

芳和实验中学：

- 那边的学生们都很友善地招待我们。

- 我学到他们学校的边上是他们的高中。

- 他们从第一年的一开始就会学生物学，然后到后面一两年才学物理和化学。

- 他们每到一个时候会扫地。

- 他们也会玩bottle flip。

- 我的台湾伙伴说故宫会很好玩。

- 枸杞，菊花和一个草药可以用来泡养身茶。

- 总而言之，我在那里玩的很开心，也从他们身上学到了很多东西。

华山1914文化创意产业园区：

- 那边是一个很有意思的地方，因为它让那些艺术企业家在那里卖艺。

- 那边有很多卖很有创意的东西的商店。比如说，有一家商店有卖迷你动物模型。

- 还有一家商店把它装饰成半拍照，半买卖的地方。它有很多可爱的‘猫虫’，很招人喜欢。

- 那边还有一家少年管理展览，展现的是少年会遇到的问题，以及会照成什么后果。大部分的问题来源都来自于家庭环境。

一件让我意想不到的事：

我没想到居然有中学就只有三班各16学生，目的是为了实验学生的学习体验。

I feel very fulfilled after the day ended, with a lot of chances to explore cultures and reflect upon life

3. I felt curious throughout the day. Seeing the culture and traditions of Taiwan, and i was so curious and really interested in the experience.

instead of having the small puppets, the taiwanese improved on it by making it bigger to allow others to see it clearer.

However, they also had their very own culture. EG: during the 小王子 show, they acted dramatically and showed enthusiasm with a wonderful performance.

All of these experiences made me feel happy because they made the atmosphere inclusive and exciting.

The visit made me feel inspired after seeing how much effort goes into protecting cultural treasures.

3. The experience made me feel kind of emotional as it kinds of depicts what our society is nowadays. Fast paced and technological advanced, it’s easy to lose ourselves in our busy lives, especially when everything is so expensive now which makes money important. So it’s a reminder to all of us to take a break from work to reflect and appreciate the beauty around us.

I enjoyed the Taiwanese puppetry a lot as it really made me learn more about the traditional culture of Taiwan, enjoying a art form that is getting less and less popular in the younger generation. The food there was also SOOOOO GOOD!

The little prince musical was so amazing. It made me feel even more touched by the story as I could hear the songs sung and watch the characters act. It really made me understand the story much more now than just reading the book. It was a very fulfilling show especially for a musical lover!

This made me feel that Taiwan actually has a really unique culture because puppet theatre is not talked about a lot in Singapore. I feel that this brought me closer to Chinese culture as puppetry is slowly being forgotten but getting to watch and even experience using the puppet made it a memorable experience

在那之后，我们搭乘了将近两个小时的大巴，从台北前往台中。到了台中，我观看了人生中第一场音乐剧。那些小时候不曾真正理解的道理，反而在这次的音乐剧中慢慢领悟，令人感触良多。

secondly, we watched the little prince musical. it was a really cool and amazing experience as it was my first tome watching a musical. the design of the building really caught my eye as it was known as the hardest building to build. all the walls of the building were all curved with not a single wall that was straight, which is really cool!

I feel very fulfilled after the experiences as I get to visit and see all this things and I learnt a lot about Taiwan culture whether it is through visiting the National Palace or watching the Taiwanese Puppetry or watching The Little Price musical.

We also went to the see 布袋戏, it was an interesting experience as we got to see part of the unique Taiwanese culture. We even had the opportunity of trying to control the puppet hands on, which was very meaningful and enjoyable!

3. Very happy and fulfilled, the puppet show was very interactive and fun, we got to try out how to play with it ourselves which is a memorable experience.

而且，台湾的夜市也很迷人。我觉得不是每个国家都有这种夜市，而且他们的夜市拥有很多台湾独特小吃。

此外，我也注意到晓明女中的学习氛围相当认真，学生们在课间也常讨论功课，彼此互相帮助。相比之下，我们在新加坡的学习时间虽然较短，但课外活动和作业也不少，各有不同的节奏。这次参访让我更了解两地学校的差异，也让我对台湾学生的学习态度十分敬佩。如果下次再有机会，我还会再去参访。
