The purpose of this film is to inform and hopefully prevent the events that happened at Sea World and other environments that hold animals in captivity. They did a good job of telling us the back story on the whale that killed the trainer at Sea World. This could be used to prevent/make a difference so that people will not die again.

The first way the filmed achieved its purpose is through the editing process. The film is edited to show people's first-hand accounts, stories about different events leading up to the climax, and other interesting details that relate to Sea World. This style of editing created smooth transitions between every part of the film. They used actual news footage and interviews, as well as background stories that were helpful to fully understand the story. For instance, they had two women who witnessed the Orca whale at Sea Land in Canada pull the trainer into the water and drown her. This was powerful because it really showed the viewer how messed up these animals became by taking them away from their families, putting them in small spaces, and mistreating them by withholding food. These editing elements contribute to make this film a well-put-together documentary. Each component was necessary and they all fit well with one another. The final element that made the film achieve its purpose was the powerful flashbacks. Whenever a person was talking about an event that happened, they would show footage to display what actually happened during that event to keep the attention of the viewer. Overall, the documentary achieved its purpose.

My overall feeling after watching the documentary Blackfish was that it was sad. It made me think. Should we be taking these animals out of the wild just for people's entertainment purposes? These animals are living creatures, too. They have families, too. It is like taking a child away from his family. That kind of thing could mess a person, or animal, up. And it definitely did in this documentary because the Orca whale turned into a killing machine.

The purpose of this film is to inform and warn people of the dangers of fast food and its impact on your health. The problem with this documentary is that the film quality was not as good. This is partly because it is dated, but also because the camera quality was terrible. The editing was OK, but some of the song choices were annoying. The film feels more like a vlog than a documentary because he likes to talk to the camera in a conversational way, versus a more professional approach. Despite this, it still had a strong purpose.

The documentary achieved the purpose because it showed the viewer what would happen if a person decided to eat all McDonald's and stop cooking at home. Clearly, it would cause many problems with a person's body, including heart disease, diabetes, and liver issues. There were a few problems with achieving the purpose, including Morgan Spurlock's approach and interactions with the camera. He was not always appropriate or professional and the camera quality was junk. The camera on my laptop is far better than the one used in the documentary.

These two documentaries are filmed very differently. The way Blackfish was filmed and edited was very professional and well made. The transitions were perfect and it kept your focus. The way Supersize me was filmed and edited seemed not very professional and the transitions were not very good. My focus kind of wandered off during the documentary Supersize me and I got bored of it. The two documentaries are very different. Out of the two I watched Blackfish was my favorite. Blackfish was interesting and my attention never left while I was watching it. Although it may be because I like animals Blackfish was one of the best well made documentaries I have seen so far.
