Why? 
I REALLY want to read this book because I watched the movie and the symbolism and the controversy around the story really interested me. I knew that the book would probably have deeper explanations more detail, because that usually is the case, so i ordered it and the book has been sitting on my nightstand since July.

She thinks back on when her father Atticus defended an innocent black man who was charged with rape. Jean Louise also talks about growing up and how her life was changed after that.

My mom read this book and owns the movie and she swears by it. She loves it and sat me down to watch the movie with her when I was about 8 and much to her disappointment, despised it. Fast forward 9 years on thanksgiving we were flipping through the channels and it was playing on PBS. I wasn't really into it at first but the next thing I knew it was over and I loved it. I want to read this book because I know it's better than the book and my mom loves it.
