Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

This is about a love story between a man and a young girl which sounds really gross but I have seen the movie and it is actually very abstract and like artfully done. Humbert travels to America to finish writing his textbook and he has been boarded into a house owned by a woman and her daughter who is named Lolita. They fall in love and travel the world together.
Published in 1955
Page Number: 309
Why?
I REALLY want to read this book because I watched the movie and the symbolism and the controversy around the story really interested me. I knew that the book would probably have deeper explanations more detail, because that usually is the case, so i ordered it and the book has been sitting on my nightstand since July.

**After going through and looking at all these lists you posted on canvas of famous books you have to read I did not realize how famous and well known Lolita is. I REALLY REALLY want to read it now!**

This is the second story of To Kill a Mockingbird that Harper Lee actually had written before and her publishers told her to write a book to go before this one. After writing To Kill a Mockingbird she never had any intention of ever publishing Go set a Watchman. This book is flashbacks of a character named Jean Louise Finch's life. She thinks back on when her father Atticus defended an innocent black man who was charged with rape. Jean Louise also talks about growing up and how her life was changed after that.
Published in 2015
Page Number: 278
Why?
I enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird quite a bit and Mrs. Gargus actually recommended this book to me after explaining how this book was published even though Harper Lee didn't actually want it to be.
