These buildings are really important because most of them nowadays are icons of Cataluña. They are famous in all the world.
The buildings were built in places with a high economic and social level, were the bourgeoisie lived because in those periods the disaster of the 98 caused a crisis suffered by the low society. In the case of Batlo house, the building was from a rich man that left there with is family until they died. The Güel Park in turn was also from a rich businessman friend of Gaudí that let him do what he wanted there.
