• Guidance for life: The Quran provides direction to distinguish between right and wrong.

• Mercy & healing: It soothes the heart, gives peace, and acts as a spiritual cure for worries.

• Rewards & blessings: Reading even a single letter of the Quran brings great rewards.

• Provision for the Hereafter: Practicing and living by the Quran will grant intercession on the Day of Judgment.

Mutabaah Amal (Monitoring Deeds)

• Meaning: Reflecting on and monitoring daily practices such as prayer, Quran recitation, remembrance (dhikr), and good manners.

• Purpose: To build consistency, avoid negligence, and continuously strive for self-improvement.

• Impact: Strengthens spiritual discipline, draws a person closer to Allah, and shapes noble character.

• A famous narration where Angel Jibril came to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the form of a man.

• He asked about Islam, Iman, Ihsan, and the signs of the Last Day.

• This hadith summarizes the foundation of the religion in one narration.

2. Iman (Faith)

• To believe in the heart, confess with the tongue, and act with the limbs.

• It consists of six pillars: belief in Allah, Angels, Books, Messengers, the Day of Judgment, and Divine Decree (Qada’ & Qadar).

• True faith combines both belief and action.

3. Islam (Submission)

• The outward practice of the religion.

• Built on five pillars: testimony of faith (shahadah), prayer (salah), giving charity (zakat), fasting in Ramadan, and pilgrimage (hajj) for those able.

• Represents the practical side of worship and obedience.

4. Ihsan (Excellence in Worship)

• The highest level of faith and practice.

• Defined as: “To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, know that He surely sees you.”

• Ihsan nurtures sincerity, humility, and mindfulness in all acts of worship and daily life.

• The foundation of belief in Islam, consisting of six pillars:

  1. Belief in Allah

  2. Belief in Angels

  3. Belief in Divine Books

  4. Belief in Prophets and Messengers

  5. Belief in the Day of Judgment

  6. Belief in Divine Decree (Qada’ and Qadar)

• These pillars shape a Muslim’s faith and relationship with Allah.

2. Allah

• The One and Only God, Creator of everything, without partner or equal.

• Allah has beautiful names and attributes (Asmaul Husna) such as The Merciful, The All-Knowing, The All-Powerful.

• Believing in Allah includes worshipping Him alone and avoiding shirk (associating partners with Him).

3. Angels

• Pure beings created from light, always obedient to Allah, without desires or sins.

• Each has specific duties:

  • Jibril: delivers revelation.

  • Mikail: controls sustenance and rain.

  • Israfil: blows the trumpet on Judgment Day.

  • Izrail: takes souls at death.

• Their existence reminds us of Allah’s constant control over the universe.

4. Quran

• The final divine book revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

• A complete guide for life, covering belief, worship, law, morality, and guidance for mankind.

• It is a timeless miracle, preserved without change, and a source of mercy, wisdom, and light for believers.

• Prophet (Nabi): A man chosen by Allah who receives revelation, but it may be only for himself.

• Messenger (Rasul): A prophet who is commanded to deliver the revelation to his people.

• There were many prophets (over 100,000), but only 25 are mentioned in the Quran.

• Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last messenger, sent as a mercy to all mankind.

2. The Day of Judgment (Kiamat)

• The day when the world will end, and every soul will be resurrected and judged by Allah.

• Two types:

  • Minor signs: like loss of trust, widespread sins, and neglect of religion.

  • Major signs: the coming of Dajjal, the return of Prophet Isa (Jesus), the emergence of Gog and Magog, and the sun rising from the west.

• It reminds Muslims to prepare with good deeds and avoid wrongdoing.

3. Divine Decree (Qada’ & Qadar)

• Qada’: Allah’s eternal decision over everything.

• Qadar: The unfolding or execution of that decision in reality.

• Belief in Qada’ and Qadar means accepting that all things happen by Allah’s knowledge and wisdom.

• Humans are given free will to choose, but everything remains under Allah’s control.

• Ihsan is the highest level of religion, above Islam and Iman.

• It means: “To worship Allah as if you see Him; and if you cannot see Him, know that He surely sees you.”

• Ihsan develops sincerity, humility, mindfulness, and discipline in both worship and daily life.

• A person with Ihsan always tries to do their best for the sake of Allah, whether in prayer, work, or behavior towards others.

2. Signs of the Day of Judgment

• Minor signs (before the end times):

  • People competing in tall buildings.

  • Loss of trust and honesty.

  • Widespread killing and injustice.

  • Knowledge of religion decreasing while ignorance spreads.

• Major signs (close to the Day of Judgment):

  • The appearance of the false messiah (Dajjal).

  • The return of Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him).

  • The emergence of Gog and Magog (Ya’juj and Ma’juj).

  • The sun rising from the west.

• These signs remind Muslims to always be prepared with good deeds and repentance.

The story of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) teaches about wisdom and respect in giving advice. His father, Azar, made and worshipped idols. Prophet Ibrahim gently advised him to stop worshipping idols and turn to Allah, saying kindly, “O my father, why do you worship what cannot hear or see?” (Surah Maryam: 42).

Despite his father’s anger, Ibrahim remained calm and respectful, replying, “Peace be upon you, O my father. I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord.”

Relation to manners (adab):

• He spoke politely and with respect, even to someone older and wrong.

• He showed patience and kindness in correcting mistakes.

• It teaches that advice should be given with gentleness, humility, and good manners, especially towards parents.
