This conversation is just a reflection of this portion of her mindset. I think Beneatha is a type of person who thinks about situations differently then her peers and she is also the type of person to just say whatever is on her mind. She doesn't really think before she speaks and I kinda frustrates her mom but she also does want to see her daughter to succeed.

She is willing to speak her mind even if she knows that people with disagree with her, or even find her disrespectful. I think this is positive trait. She has her priorities straight. She is more focused on becoming a doctor instead of worrying about marrying some guy. My overall thoughts of the conversation was, I can definitely tell that the mom is stern and that Beneatha has respect for her. I was curious about where the father was. The mom mentioned how her and Beneatha’s father went to trouble to get her and her brother to church every Sunday. But where is the father now?
