         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>-Number of speakers:</strong> Around 98% of Irish people speak Irish English,4.3 million people in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland speak Irish english.</div><div><strong>-Geographical area:</strong> Spoken in Ireland.</div><div><strong>-Grammatical features:</strong> Irish English makes an explicit distinction between singular <em>you/ye</em> and plural <em>youse</em>, also irish English often uses progressive forms of stative verbs—"I was knowing your face".Another salient feature is the use of sentence <a href="https://www.thoughtco.com/tag-question-grammar-1692523">tags</a> initiated by "so," as in "It's raining, so it is.</div><div><strong>-Linguistic features:</strong> there are broad vowels and slender vowels, each with different pronunciations. If a consonant has a broad vowel before it, the rule is that it needs to have another broad vowel after it, the same goes for slender vowels.</div><div><strong>-Voc,slang words: </strong>Gas: “Gas” in Irish slang means funny. It can also be used to depict shock or disbelief.Grand:the meaning of “grand” Irish slang varies substantially. The true grand meaning in Ireland is okay, fine, or adequate. Depending on the tone of voice and situation of usage, the grand meaning in Irish could be anything from very good to absolutely dreadful.Sure look:It almost has a meaning of something being out of your control.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
