Some weaknesses they had were that they were less experienced and were fighting an offensive war. Some strengths the confederacy had were that they were more experienced and fought a defensive war. Some weaknesses were that they had a smaller population, limited industrialization and fewer resources.</p></li><li><p>McClellan didn't pursue the Confederate army after Antietam because he was cautious and believed that the Confederate army was stronger. This caused the war to keep going and Lincoln moved him from being in command.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>a) The Union army had more naval ships and a larger iron and firearm production than the Confederates. The union army also had a larger over population, a larger population eligible for military, and way more industrial workers than the Confederates did. Considering these factors, the Union army had more of an advantage in the battle since they had more people, more factories, greater food production, and a more extensive railroad system than the Confederates did. Because of their large population however, their camps were very crowded and unsanitary. </p><p>1.b)Though the Confederate army was much smaller than the Union army, they were very strategic and strong on the battle field, which ultimately would lead them to victory. However, they did not necessarily have the advantage considering their poor economy, low population, and low industrialization of goods. </p></li><li><p>McClellen might not have pursued the Confederate Army after Antietam because he might have been intimidated by how brutal and bloody the battle was. As a result, Lincoln removed him from command. </p></li></ol>]]></description>
