At the same time we are sharing our expertise, we should also be acquiring other forms of expertise as we pursue professional development to help our peers solve problems our teams have identified.

Expert teachers are not always teacher leaders. However, building expertise is essential to becoming a teacher leader.

The Teachers’ Vision, Teachers’ Creed and Teachers’ Pledge can be used with my mentees and myself as a self-check to ensure that we are on the right track especially at times when moral decisions need to be made. They also serve as a reminder of the importance in partnering stake holders to ensure that the desired outcomes of education are achieved.
