He represents this model by doing three things: being a source of comfort for his kids, being the main source of knowledge for his kids and setting a good example for his kids. He demonstrated these qualities throughout the story by hugging/kissing/spending time with his kids (comfort), tells them answers to sensitive topics such as the definition of rape (knowledge) while doing so in a tactful way, and accepting the T.
