I remember driving home to visit one summer and half of the trip consists of driving on a straight road for miles. There was a car in front of me that I wanted to pass and when I felt I had enough time to do so I decided to try and pass them thinking the oncoming car that I saw was still far away enough. I got scared and had to speed up to get back into the lane!

I am so terrified of making left turns on a green light where on the opposite side cars are coming straight. it seems to me that the cars are always coming way too fast and I have no time to make a left safely. Especially when the light starts to turn yellow. The other day I was driving in the valley which is always pretty crowded and I just made a left right as a car was full speed ahead trying to catch a yellow light. It was such a scary and high tense experience that I still hate making these turns.

When I was in high school, I crashed my car into a pole. I was making a left turn, and I overturned somehow and ran right into the pole and didn't stop. I still don't understand how I didn't see it, why I didn't stop, etc. It was around midnight and the whole pole came tumbling down onto the street. If it was during the day time, I would have killed people and been arrested. It is amazing how my perception really made it so I couldn't even see the pole until it was too late.

A while ago I was on my way to work, when the transmission on my car seized up and stopped the rear wheels from turning. I ended up hitting a telephone pole and did my best steer the car from oncoming traffic. I managed not to hit anyone else but ultimately smashed the front side of my car pretty bad. It all happened so fast but at the same time, it felt almost like everything moved in slow motion. It was such a weird sensation.

I still have moments when I am turning left where I hesitate to go because I have an issue with telling how fast the on-coming car is going. Then it's a cycle of "I have time to go" and "Wait do I still have enough time to go?" because of the repetitive hesitation. This is with cars most of the time- trucks are easy to tell if I have enough space and time to turn left.

I have to look both ways to be able to drive off of the alley but due to the steep turn, the cars aren't in my line of sight until they are a few feet away. Once I was in a hurry to get to work and underestimated how fast the other car was making the turn. As a result, I almost hit the oncoming car, but fortunately, they were going fast enough that I missed them by a few inches.

Making left turns give me anxiety each time I need to make them. I especially dislike them when the person in front is also making a left turn on the other side and their car is double the size of mine. This makes it hard for me to see incoming traffic. I have had a few scares thinking that I can make the left turn quicker than incoming traffic arriving. I remember in one insists I thought I could make it quickly and all of sudden I heard someone honking at me to hurry up. Since then I like to take my time on left turns. I even ask for reassurance from my passengers if they think I have enough time to make it.

It's a busy street in Moorpark with regular cars and large commercial trucks. I always have a hard time deciding when to make the right as cars seem far but are really not. I have found that is best for me to wait till I have plenty of space to avoid any accidents, it's a daily struggle.

I sure made that left, and I perceived that I had enough time to make that left as a bus was coming my way. I thought the instructor was going to have a heart attack. It was a terrible experience. Of course, I fell the test, but it took me a while before I went back for a second chance.

I thought they were far away, but I slowed down because I had little to none depth perception. I ended up breaking hard because they were a lot closer than I anticipated. Just a heads up- do not cross the street at night! Drivers will most likely not be able to determine perception well enough and could cause an accident.

While driving on the freeway today a semi truck was driving alongside in the lane to my left. The semi was driving at the same speed as I was. Initially, I felt that the truck was closing in on me. Based on what I've just read I realize that it appeared to be closing in on me because if its larger size, in comparison to other vehicles on the road near me. However, at one point the truck did veer into my lane causing me to swerve away and out of my lane to avoid hitting the car directly in front of me. I was so fixated on the big truck that I had missed what was ahead of me. Luckily, there was no one to my immediate right and all turned out ok.

In the neighborhood I live in we have three main exit and entrance points. Unfortunately one of the entry/exit points is a side road next to a main road divided by a wall of trees. The car turn has the right away and the car exiting has a yield when merging into traffic. One day when I was turning into my neighborhood I got hit by a car traveling straight. I had a green light to turn and the turning car had a yield. He did not anticipate my speed when turning and t-boned my car. I also detected him driving slow in my direction, but he was going faster than the posted speed limit. This caused me to continue my turn rather than pushing on my breaks to prevent the collision. The design of the road causes a numerous amount of accidents and makes it difficult to enter/exit my neighborhood.
