         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are many other adult education options available in Edinburgh, and in this section you'll find some suggestions. <br><br>You/your young person's <strong>Skills Development Scotland (SDS) </strong>keyworker at school can advise on the latest options available and what might best suit your needs. Schools also have <strong>Developing the Young Workforce (DYW)</strong> keyworkers who can help in this area. This can include options such as other college opportunities, apprenticeships, activity agreements, online learning and community classes. The <strong>Local Area Coordination (LAC)</strong> <strong>team</strong> can also help in this area too. Please see the bottom of this page for more information about SDS, DYW and LAC teams.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>On this page you will find advice, guidance and options for post school placements for any young person with an additional support need. This includes information on: <strong>colleges; universities; community and adult learning opportunities; employability courses, activity agreements, volunteering opportunities</strong> etc. <strong>Please scroll down this page to see all the relevant information. </strong>You'll see there is also suggestions for other social opportunities<strong> </strong>and other transition support options towards the bottom of the page.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>To apply for any of these opportunities, please discuss with your transition coordinator at school</strong> who can arrange for the best person to support you (e.g. through transition planning meetings).</p><p><br/></p><p>There will be some young people with substantial, critical and/or multiple disabilities where planning for any further education, training or employment options post school may not be appropriate. In these instances assigned social workers may be able to assess, support and arrange funding for a suitable alternative provision including <strong>day services or supported living options</strong>.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The purpose of the ILF Scotland Transition Fund is to help young disabled people, between the ages of 16 and 25, with the transition after leaving school or children’s services to be:</p><ul><li><p>more independent,</p></li><li><p>more active and engaged in their community,</p></li><li><p>and to build and maintain relationships with other people.</p></li></ul><p><strong>The Transition Fund provides up to £4,000 to support young people with a disability or impairment</strong> as defined by the Equality Act 2010.</p><p>Disabilities can include:</p><ul><li><p>autism</p></li><li><p>learning difficulties</p></li><li><p>intellectual disabilities</p></li><li><p>physical disabilities</p></li><li><p>mental health (e.g. anxiety or depression)</p></li><li><p>hearing or visual impairments.</p></li></ul><p>Young people or their parents/carers can self refer to this fund.</p>]]></description>
