PIZZICATO RAINBOW:To do a rainbow, play from your lowest string (IV) to your highest string (I) and then back down. For violins, this looks like G, D, A, E, A, D, G. For cello and viola this looks like C, G, D, A, D, G, C. This sequence is called a rainbow. Please start on your bottom string. People are not really following directions.

BOWING CYCLES:

A down-bow is when you play with your bow from the frog to the tip. An up-bow is when you play from the tip to the frog. Play 1 down bow while breathing IN (through nose) for 4 beats. Play 1 up bow (from tip to frog) while breathing OUT (through mouth) for 4 beats. This is one bow-cycle.

BOW RAINBOW:

Same as pizzicato rainbow but with bowing. Play from your lowest string (IV) to your highest string (I) and then back down. IV-III-II-I-II-III-IV (low to high string then high to low)
