         <description><![CDATA[<div>The U.S sided with South Vietnam for obvious reasons and helped the South behind the scenes up until 1964 when they started sending in troops. The whole reason the U.S decided to even be involved was to continue trying to stop the spread of communism.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The soviet union sided with North Vietnam for also very obvious reasons (North Vietnam was Communist) they sent support in troops and really amped it up when the U.S got more involved in the 1960s but their main way to support the North was sending in weaponry.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1887 - France imposes a more colonial rule on the whole of Vietnam naming it French Indochina.</div><div><br></div><div>1925 - Ho Chi Minh a Vietnamese Nationalist is trained as a proxy of the Communist International in the soviet union. <strong>This event is important because Ho Chi Minh will become the founder of the Indochinese Communist Party in 1930.</strong></div><div><br></div><div>1940 - Japanese troops invade french Indochina deciding to occupy Vietnam.</div><div><br></div><div>1941 - Ho Chi Minh and multiple other communist members create the independence of Vietnam/Viet Minh a movement created to oppose the Japanese and french’s occupation of Vietnam. <strong>This event is significant because in the near future the Viet Minh will initiate a Guerilla war against the french this war ends in their defeat but doesn't discredit the fact that it was a long and bloody one. (also known as the First Indochina war).</strong></div><div><br>1954 - The creation of the Geneva Accords is the starting point of the Vietnam war splitting Vietnam into North and South under a democratic way of government. <strong>This event is significant because it is basically the “last straw” in the creation of the Vietnam War.</strong></div>]]></description>

One major effect of the Vietnam war was that Vietnam because a major contender when it came to military power although their once-thriving business and agriculture industries were recked. Another major effect is the amount of U.S troops that either went missing or died over 58,300 armed forces.</div>]]></description>
