My hobbies are cooking, dancing, listening to old school music and afrobeats music and I love to travel.  I am a transferred student, and it is my first time taking the fall classes at the UMV.

One major problem in the healthcare system we will face is not having enough doctors, nurses and other medical workers. As we all get older and need care, clinics and hospitals will need more staff, but many workers are quitting or retiring.  This could lead to longer waiting times, stressed-out workers, and lower quality care.

We can fix the problem by using better technologies, and less stressful work by hiring more people, training people properly and creating a positive environment.

In my free time, I enjoy fitness and exercise because it helps me stay healthy and clear-minded, and I also like learning more about health and wellness. I take pride in helping others and being someone people can rely on. In my career, I currently work as a Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) in a psychiatric hospital, where I support patients in their daily care and assist the healthcare team in providing a safe and structured environment. This role has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and it continues to strengthen my passion for working in healthcare.

My expectations for this class are to learn, grow professionally, and gain knowledge that I can apply both in my career and in everyday life. I’m also looking forward to hearing different perspectives and connecting with classmates.

I currently live in Clinton Township, Michigan.

Three words I would use to describe my personality are driven, independent, and resilient.

Some of my favorite activities and hobbies include working out, walking outdoors, kickboxing/fitness training, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy learning about business, healthcare, and personal growth.

Yes, I do work full-time in healthcare, specifically in revenue cycle and medical billing operations, while also finishing my degree.

I live in Holly and currently unemployed, but seeking a part time job that complements my schedule as a full time student.

My expectations for this class and school in general is to be the best student I can possibly be and absorb as much as I can from the experience.

Although I don't have much free time and there's so much I like to do and enjoy, I focus on spending time with my girls and appreciating small moments every day, like drinking coffee on the porch or hanging out with my chickens on their backyard walkabouts. This summer, I'm going to set up a backyard camp so I'll be able to fall asleep to the sound of the wind in the leaves and wake up to birdsong and still have the ability to concentrate on my studies every day.

Although I always find it hard to describe my qualities or personality, I have given it serious thought and came up with determined, resilient, and compassionate. Those are qualities that have definitely helped me through life to this point and will continue to be important ones in the future.

For this class, I hope to gain a better understanding of the course material, strengthen my skills, and learn information that I can apply to both my academic and professional career. I also look forward to connecting with classmates, participating in discussions, and having a positive and successful semester with everyone.

My goal for this class is to excel while gaining a deeper understanding of health care policies and how they impact the overall outcomes of the U.S. health care system. By the end of the semester, I look forward to being able to say that I am one step closer to earning my degree.

Three words I would use to describe my personality are kind-hearted, organized, and stubborn. I can highlight my strengths, but I also believe in being honest about my flaws.

In my free time, I enjoy reading the Bible and talking to God, getting lost in a good rom-com or investigative book, and, at times, simply doing nothing at all. I currently work in Administration at Hurley Medical Center.
