She laughs at their warnings and keeps walking until she runs into the creatures. The oni make the woman bake dumplings with a magical paddle that doubles the amount of rice she makes.  She eventually grows tired of living with the oni and returns home with the magical paddle, despite the oni's best efforts to catch her.  This is a Kindergarten level book.  This teaches young students about diversity and how to overcome obstacles.  Mosel, Arlene, et al.
