The film begins in the springtime, with the island being tickled by the slow and gentle rains. Summer is approaching, with its afternoon swims and evening crab hunts under the stars. As autumn approaches, activity picks up, with islanders gearing up for a tough winter. The islanders huddle close together as winter approaches, using stories and song to distract them from the hurricane brewing outside their doors. The film ends with the end of another summer, when island visitors return home for the start of school. This is a second grade level book. This teaches the changes that come with the changing of the seasons and how weather can effect their lives. McCloskey, Robert. Time of Wonder. New York: Puffin Books, 1989. Print.

This thrilling act of a man who walked on a tightrope between the two towers captures an unusual and memorable part of the World Trade Center's history. In dramatic perspective, the story of Philippe Petit's daring feat is brought to life. This young man's creativity, sense of adventure, and grace will captivate children. Petit's act, as well as the towers themselves, are dramatized and magnified by the poetic text. This film serves as a reminder of the Twin Towers and the indelible mark they left on American history. This is a third grade level book. This teaches the history of the world trade center and makes the reader use comprehension to understand the themes within the story. Gerstein, Mordicai. The Man Who Walked between the Towers. This is a first grade level book. This teaches artistic process, self expression, and perception of art. Steptoe, Javaka. Radiant Child: The Story of Young Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, 2016.
