The whole movie plot is very similar to how Romeo juliet meet. The only big difference in the end of the story is that Rose survives the shipwreck and goes to New York. One thing that they both did that was partly to blame for their deaths was they were so young and didn't know what true love at the time, despite this they still decided to give up their lives for each other and not take time to find true love. This blows up and is one of the main reasons that they both committed suicide, if they took time it could of been a much better outcome and they could of lived a much better life. 
Another way Romeo contributed to them both dying was if he had just waited a little longer to drink the potion. Although Romeo had no idea that Juliet was not actually dead but just asleep, this still was one huge thing that contributed to the tragedy.

This is when Romeo was first falling for Juliet as they kiss, if they were seperated and were not able to kiss they could of lost the feeling and never of ended up together how they did.
