Our favorite scene in the text is when the mother states that she not only wants to be a mother but she also wants to be grandfather's girl the evidence can be found at line 355-357. This impact the whole text as it shows us that the mother not only wants to take care of grandfather, she also wants grandfather to take care of her.

If you had to create a trailer for the text, what scenes would you highlight? What would you leave out?

I would start the trailer the same way the story started. As it would give a solid beginning, then I would cut the clip to the scene where the grandfather and son are having a conversation and the grandfather teaches the son how to speak in Chinese then a small title card "Drama at its peak" then skip all the way to the fight scene then another title card "Bonding all the way through" the scene where the mother and grandfather share their bonds and end with a title card showing the text name "Don't know don't care" I would leave out the ending so it creates the suspense required for a trailer.

I see myself as the mother in Perfecting Pratas because, like her, I often struggle to communicate my true feelings and thoughts to others. Sometimes, no matter how much I want to express myself, the words don’t come out the way I intend. This makes me feel as though I am still holding on to a child-like life, not fully stepping into the role of a growing teenager. Deep down, I know that I have difficulty coping with changes, whether they are big or small. Change unsettles me and makes me feel unprepared, almost as if I’m not ready to face the responsibilities that come with growing up. Just like the mother in the story who grapples with her own challenges, I too feel caught between the innocence of childhood and the expectations of adolescence.

what is your favorite scene or moment in the text? why?

my favorite scene is when Albert pressed the dough against his cheek. It shows how much he misses ma even though he doesn’t say it. It is my favorite as it shows even the strongest people can be vulnerable sometimes and that doesn’t make them weak, it makes them stronger.

A turtle representing the grandpa in DKDC. This is because turtles are not very “talkative” or vocal which is how the grandpa was with the son at first, as they didn’t speak much. The slowness also represents his fragility as he is too ill and weak to move quickly.

The boy making the prata while the father is sleeping trying to perfect the pratas from the family recipe. But when the father woke up he, instated of appreciateing his efforts, scolded him for making a mess. This is our favorite moment as it shows the distance between the father and son and how their relation improves as the story progresses. It even shows the boys determination to bond back with his father which really inspires us.

The farewell is a movie about how the grandmother is sick but the parents refuses to tell her as it was too painful to tell her the truth. The same like don’t know don’t care both stories did not tell their grandparents that they were sick as it would show a sign of weakness and vulnerability to tell the truth because the truth hurts
