The Nazi party was campaigning very extensively for votes. In 1932, the Nazi party won 37% of the votes. They still lost by 33%, but received more votes than any other party. Since the Nazi party had such electoral success, it made it hard to govern Germany without their input. Hitler demanded to be named as Chancellor in order for his help. Then president Hindenburg died and Hitler became the dictator of Germany.
