I started seeing books in Africa when I was like 2-3 years old. I was curious and wanted to learn like everybody.

Going to School - Pre K

I quit school in like the 15th day or so because it got boring and I just didn't like it. All the reading and writing they did in Oromo.

Coming to America--6 1/2 years old

I came to America and we started needing to read, so yea. I also needed to learn the language. Everywhere was words in english and I only spoke Oromo.

Mom 6 1/2 - 7 1/2

My mom teached me the letters of the alphabet and I was studying every letter one by one. And yea I started learning everyday more and more.

She read to me every day for like an hour or so then yea I learned a few words

School---2nd grade

I went to school, straight to 2nd grade and yea I learned quickly because it was an immigrant school called ncnaa

I went to library because it was like less than half a mile away and started going their some days

Reading-- 2nd 3rd 4th grade

I started reading chapter books because we needed to learn quickly in order to understand-at least thats what my parents said....So yea I had to read and write more

While I was at those class, My teachers would make me and this other girl read in front of class instead of the teacher.... because I understood

I started going to the group and we had to read so yea it was involved in my life frequently

During the summer my parents made me write 4 pages per day and yea I had to do more reading and writing
