https://padlet.com/mmouakdi/Bookmarks My specialist project will be a 3 tracks ep for a label called Butress records, label owned by musumeci and lehar, two famous djs in the melodic house and techno, indie dance field. They have released on many other label such as Diynamic (Solomun's label) or Innervision (Dixon and Âme label). Butress is another sub-genre with a more pop structured tracks including disco, space disco italo disco vibe and synth sounds, but also disco beats including the use of disco percussions such as toms, cowbell, rim, conga or clave. The kick and the snare will also have to reflect a certain disco style of course (Linn drumm, DMX, 707..) I intend to work using a bit of arpeggiator to have this disco, italo disco vibe but not only, Pads and strings will be there to create the deep space atmosphere, in addition to poppy riffs and melodies to keep the pop style, I might use vocals or not depending on the starting point or idea I will intend to develop my project on. I am definitely going to think and write down my strategy before even going into the project but that will also be usefull to jam with some grooves and sound design. Artists releasing on this label as a reference include names as phunkadelica, lerr, spacefood and many other. I might start the three tracks together creating beats and basslines so that the groove is existing, then merge with appropriate sounds, gain staging, a first mixing process, arrangement view to build, keep going with the mixing (automations). Then freeze and flat for less cpu and start adding effect to colors.
