Her hair is wound about her head in two strands and held at the top. Sculptures of females without any deity attributes are rare in Aztec art. It is possible that this figure was dressed on specific days of the ritual calendar in deity costumes made of cloth and/or other perishable materials.

Masks were rare in the Solomon Islands and were only regularly made in the northernmost islands in the archipelago. This boldly painted mask, made of barkcloth stretched over a cane frame and was worn over the head like a helmet. While the precise significance and imagery of this Bougainville mask is uncertain, the upraised ears, prominent brow ridge, wide staring eyes, and bared teeth indicate that it too may depict a fearsome spirit.

To help the exhibit really feel like it's from Aztec culture, I think it would help to place some sort of mini bird's eye view of architecture from the aztecs. Almost like a mini-city. If it were an entire room exhibit, it would be helpful to line the room with a mini-aztec city. (I'm not sure if this makes sense, but think of something like one of those lego min-land exhibits).

To set the tone on the exhibit, and call the attention to the sculpture, I would want the sculpture to be placed on a clear platform or holder to make it appear almost floating. I'd want yellow-ish mood lighting, and maybe even fog machines to simulate dust. This really helps to put the emphasis on the sculpture and to help people feel like they can understand the context and culture of the sculpture.

I think some culturally appropriate music would be helpful as well. The mask would be stationed at the end of the walk-through and call attention to itself.
