         <description><![CDATA[<div>I remember science being very exciting in elementary school, although we did not spend much time covering it. I remember using batteries and wires to make a lightbulb light up as well as other experiments. We had a "science journal" to record data and answer questions about the specific experiment.&nbsp;There were directions and data tables provided to us, and each experiment we did had an expected outcome; there was not much "discovery".</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I learned that the scientific process is not linear. Scientists go back to all of the stages multiple times and revisit their work. After one trial, their work is not finalize. It is also important to utilize peers and their work so that different ideas and theories can work together to form a scientific discovery. </div>]]></description>

         <title>How do my past experiences as a science learner affect the type of science educator I want to be: </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Based on what I recall from my experiences as a learner of science in school, I can identify that as an educator, I want to ensure my students use creativity and have the freedom to choose their path toward discovery in science. While it will be difficult with a specific curriculum in place, I think that I will be able to alter each lesson to fit my students needs and inquiries. I feel strongly about this because looking at my learning through a different lens has made me realize that in my instruction, there was a lack of freedom and creativity in how we were taught. I think students' ideas are important and deserve to be valued and explored in the classroom. </div>]]></description>
