         <description><![CDATA[<div>* Even though migration numbers are increasing, “One thing that is glaringly missing from the above mentioned scenario is any discussion on current immigration issues” (Hossain, 2014, p.56) <br>*Socio-Cultural Theory emphasizes the roles of social, cultural, and historical factors in the human experience.  <br>*Literacy can be used to effect positive change within the classroom as well as society<br>*“These text sets supply multiple perspectives on complicated topics, and students increase their critical literacy skills when they question prevailing viewpoints in the development of inquiry-based lessons” (Newstreet, Sarker, &amp; Shearer, 2018, p. 562).  <br>*Not only do students see new perspectives on the issue of migration, the use of this literature should also reduce stereotyping and xenophobia.  <br>*The final reason to introduce migration literature to your students is to help foster global citizenship. </div>]]></description>
