Ancient Greek god of wine and grape harvest.

He was one of the twelve Olympians.

He is the son of Zeus and the mortal Semele. 

Dionysus was seen as an outsider.

 He was raised on the mythical Mount Nysa,  later taken to be cared for by Semele’s sister Ino. 

He was also referred to as Bacchus.

The first to turn grapes into wine. 

He was born in Thebes.

Upon reaching adulthood, Dionysus wandered the Earth, teaching men the culture of the vine.

Many festivals were held in honor of Dionysus: the Lesser or Rural Dionysia, the Greater or City Dionysia, the Anthesteria, and the Lenaea.

Dionysus is kind but can be cruel when necessary.

Pentheus tried to stop the frenzied worship of Dionysus, he hates Dionysus. 

Dionysus was once kidnapped by pirates because he looked like the son of the king.

Dionysus rescued the princess of Crete, Ariadne and fell in love with her.

Madness is his one great weakness, I believe, and this madness showed up in many ways. He had an enormous temper toward those who refused to honor him as a god, and he could make some of those people go insane.

Drunkenness. Just as wine (alcohol) can make some people feel happy or sad or angry or wanting to fight, so, too, could Dionysus. He was dangerous to his enemies, generous and loving toward those who were his friends. Just as wine can make people lose control of their emotions, so could Dionysus. He was terrifying at times, yet loving and gentle at other times.

He was born a demigod 

Hermès had raised Dionysus as a girl to hide them from Hera's scorn. 

Dionysus was born twice reasoning being an unborn baby was to be perished but Zeus sewed it onto his leg saving the I’m person we all know today as Dionysus when Dionysus was fully grown he was removed from the leg of Zeus.

Dionysus dies every winter and comes back every spring. 

Hera drove Dionysus mad after finding out he was still alive witch made him travel the world teaching people how to make wine from grapes.

In his first birth he is considered a demigod because his mom is a human, princes of Thebes but since he was unborn he was technically “resurrected “by being sewn onto Zeus therefore making Him more god-like than human.

He is one of the 12 olympians that lived on mount Olympus 

Dionysus later married Ariadne princess of Crete
