         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>80 years war (the war of dutch independence) - The 1568-1648 war between the Dutch and Habsburgs began due to high taxation in Netherland, with William of Orange leading the revolt and establishing a twelve-year truce.</p></li><li><p>30 years war (bloodiest war in European history) - The 1619 war, involving religion, feudalism, and early capitalism, ended with the Peace of Westphalia, recognizing the Dutch as an independent republic.</p></li><li><p>The Dutch Republic, despite being overshadowed by imperial rivals, maintained its significant international economic presence by maintaining neutrality during the Seven Years' War.</p></li><li><p>The Netherlands joined the League of Armed Neutrality, leading Britain to declare war on them, resulting in the Anglo-Dutch War, which lasted until 1784.</p></li><li><p>In 1776, the Dutch West India Company gave the first international salute to the US flag on St. Eustatius. Dutch bankers provided loans to John Adams, and in 1782, they recognized the US. Dutch political organization provided lessons for the US.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>This gave a new outlook among its people that would have huge change for the future. Groups excluded from immediate equality such as slaves and women would draw their later inspirations from revolutionary sentiments.</p></li></ol><ol start="2"><li><p>Slaves were granted their freedom if they agreed to fight for the cause. Slavery did not end overnight. Before any meaningful reform could happen, people needed to recognize that the idea of immorality, and inhumanity of slavery was horrible.</p></li><li><p>Society needs a set of rules to be able to operate. After the colonies declared independence from Great Britain, they had to write their own constitutions which had them work together as a nation.</p></li><li><p>The 1780s has often been termed the "critical period" for the new nation. There were dangers that posed by economic crisis, that came with the collapse of Revolutionary expectations. The dramatic new proposal for redirecting the nation.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
