This summer I flew out on my own to figure some things out after completely losing myself. I was met with a group of strangers that helped guide me through one of the hardest times in my life. These people are now life long friends of mine, who I would go to the ends of the earth for. I have been on a couple mission trips here. Although I am no longer religious, this experience served me far greater than that. We would wake up early every day to get into the parts of town needing assistance, feeding the homeless, building homes, and playing with children. Seeing how grateful and appreciative these kids were for what little they did have was a very eye opening experience for me to see as a young girl. I went back home after my first trip there and when I saw my room filled with a bed, blankets, and clothes I felt a much greater sense of appreciation for every little thing.
