Anne's diary was found after her family and her and the others were being captured. A lady named Miep she held on to the book to give back to Anne, but when she heard she was dead she gave it to her father. Once Otto returned, she told him, "This is your daughter Anne’s legacy." Once he heard that and got the diary back he had it published, and ever since that day it has become the best piece from the holocaust.
