"Thank you for pulling me from the river!" the little man said to Greta. "I near lost my life- and my hat!"
Greta looked at the wet hat in the man's hands. Why would he care about a beat-up old hat?
"I want you to have this, "he said. "It's a magic hat. Just put it on and snap your fingers- and you will disappear!"
Greta tried to say no, but the man insisted. "It's my turn to save you," he said mysteriously.
