Skills needed for this role: 
  • Ability to deal in a polite and professional manner with owners and their animals
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent telephone manner 
  • Customer service skills (essential!)
Experience: 
  • Customer service and receptionist/admin experience. 
Qualifications needed for this role: 
  • GCSEs in Maths and English. Preferably IT.

For example, my ability to work within a team has increased as well as my understanding of how to run a business in real life. Before I was not aware of the implications it would include in running my own business. During this task I have gained skills in the numerical side of running a business, such as the costs for equipment and the location. I have also learnt about what advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and threats you would need to consider before setting up a business, depending on what type of business you would be setting up.
