We are very grateful to the Rutledge Recruitment & Training staff for taking the time to speak with our students and for providing such valuable insights into the exciting opportunities available after Year 12.

During the visit, pupils gained valuable insight into the company’s factory operations, day‑to‑day procedures, current developments, and the wide range of skills involved in modern engineering.

A special focus was given to McAuley Engineering’s Apprenticeship Programme, which is now open for applications. This is an excellent pathway for any student interested in pursuing a career in engineering.

All Year 11 students must return their full Work Experience documentation as soon as possible. This is essential to confirm your placement and ensure you are fully covered to participate.

Documents Required:

1. Parental/Guardian Permission Slip

Confirms that you have permission to take part in the Work Experience Programme.

2. Employer Documentation

• Must be completed and signed by your chosen employer.

• A copy of the Employer’s Liability Insurance Certificate MUST be included.

  
  

3. Work Experience Placement – Student Responsibility

• Students/Parents/Guardians are responsible for organising and securing a suitable Work Experience placement.

• Support and guidance can be provided if you need assistance.

Our Lady of Lourdes School is delighted to host our annual Year 12 Interview Skills Event, held in collaboration with the Ballymoney Rotary Club. This valuable experience will take place on Wednesday 25th March 2026.

👔 Dress Code – Professional Attire Required

All Year 12 students must wear professional clothing for their mock interview.

This is an important opportunity to learn how to present themselves formally in preparation for future careers, college applications, and real-world interviews.

Note: If a student does not have professional‑style clothing, they may wear their full school uniform instead.

This is a multi‑agency transition event designed to support autistic young people who are preparing to leave school.

• Use a quiet room / sensory room if needed

Free Summer Coding Camp for Ages 14–18

Kainos⁠ is offering a free 5-day summer CodeCamp for students aged 14–18. The programme is designed to help young people build practical coding skills, develop creative problem-solving abilities, and explore emerging technologies. This year’s camp includes a special focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

No previous coding experience is required—just an interest in technology and a willingness to learn.
