I chose the book “Coming of Age in Mississippi” to help understand the tribulations and troubles that came with being a person of color throughout segregation. Not just a person of color, but a woman. Being a man we very rarely understand what wonan actually go through and I feel reading this book will help. In the up and coming era we tend to misunderstand what these people had to endure and we sometimes take this for granted. By Daniel Garza

I chose the book Coming of Age in Mississippi because I wanted to understand the hardships that the author went through. I think that it is also a good learning experience and it makes you more aware of the things that went on during this time. Also I just thought it looked like a good book to read and I like watching documentaries of things like this.
