This stage is the most crucial stage as it shapes a babies view of the world. When I was this age I was very trusting of my intermediate family especially my mom because she was very comforting. She gave confirmation that my basic needs will be met by fulfilling my basic necessities. I began walking at this age which resulted in a broken arm.

In this stage a child develops a balance of independence and self sufficiency over shame and doubt. The strength that emerges in this stage is will. At this age I was potty trained by the age of 2. At this stage I gained a great sense of independence with experiencing shame when I could not go to the bathroom on my own resulting in potty failures. My littler brother was also born when I was 2 my mom stated that I did not care for him when he was born until I got older to understand that he was my sibling.

The third stage of the psychosocial development is Initiative vs. Guilt. At this age preschoolers can do and will do more and more while learning some things that need approval while others do not. I began preschool and instantly became open to playing with other kids. My mom says that I would initiate imaginative play with other kids playing things such as doctor or house. The outcome of this stage is purpose.

A major determination of self esteem is a children's view of their capacity for productive work, which develops in the fourth stage of psychosocial development. I was playing sports in this age which included cheerleading and soccer. I worked on those cultural skills to not face inferiority. I became more open and made more friends being shy was out of the window at this point. I realized at this age I loved talking and making new friends. In addition to having 2 new siblings at the age of 8 and 13.
