I made a mind map to help understand what ideas I have for my e-book. This is so I could develop my story and give me new ideas for my book. We added points about the barriers we will face and what our strengths will be on this task such as editing. This is because it will show what we have to focus more on to ensure we complete the e-book. We then went on to creating a project proposal and typed up about out strengths and problems we need to face. Once that was completed we started to experiment with problem solving Photoshop backgrounds and then create a Photoshop image. This is to help us learn more about Photoshop and find new ways to tackle problems we might face. I learnt how to duplicate layers. This was shown in Hannah's tutorial. The skills I developed were Photoshop because from the tutorial it gave me more knowledge on the software. I need to improve editing on Photoshop to make my character look more professional and appropriate for the book. This is so it will stand out like the other characters. The main problems I faced this lesson were Photoshop skills. This is because I feel I'm not as confident when using it. However, I overcame most of the problems as I watched Hannah's video. This is because it will help guide us in a suitable storyline for the book filled with things children like. The most important information was what children like in books. Most of the answers were "animals", "adventures" and "imaginative creatures". This was avery important question as it showed us what we should include in the book to suit the audience and gain a great response for our book. Also we did some secondary research. From this I learnt some story lines from good children's books which will help me think of ideas which we can follow to helps us develop a story. It has also developed my ideas as I was going to start the first scene in a forest. Whereas from conducting some secondary research it changed my mind to start it in a old big barn. This is because from the secondary research they make the opening location big. My visual imaging problem was selecting different parts of an image so I could add colours. I overcame this by watching Hannah's tutorial which made me realise that you can use a polygon lasso tool to select part of an image. These skills can be used in my ebook as it will help when creating my backgrounds.
