I enventually pivoted that time to high school research, but I feel like those circles were great opportunities for students to practice important listening skills. Second takeaway was doing the circle talks with students. Students were able to express themselves whether it was during advisory or during class time.

The restorative justice system has been implemented where 6th graders normally engage in talking circles. This is great!

With practice I think the conversations with students will get more in depth and students will become more comfortable engaging.

It’s also allowed me to open up to my students to build rapport which I believe has improved behavior.
