I have learned that as a school and as a teacher you are more often concerned with internationalization and the associated competences.

This could include conversations with students and classes that are not fixed, but emerge during the lessons. The competencies can also be seen in various assignments. Graph theory and map reading are two examples of this.

I like to think about this further and to involve internationalization even more in the lessons.

Today I‘ve learned that I as a teacher am the most important person in school. Without me and my collegues nothing would ever happen. It‘s quiet clear That it is like that, but thinking about it made me rethinking a lot of my job.

Today we talked about making international project plans. It is important that you find good partners, that you first try to work together online to find reliable partners and then later also do a physical exchange. Personal motivation of the teachers and students is more important than the objectives. First ensure involvement, give choices, own ideas and only then set the objectives to achieve a good project. Regularly recurring online activities are important, which I certainly want to expand at our school in the future.

Today I learned that no matter what or where or who you teach to learn something, it is MOST important to catch the learner's interest.
Learners learn best if they realize why they have to learn it. To include several school subjects into one topic, look at it from all different perspectives and even choose a different place for the input ( Island as an outdoor classroom) learners will not forget it as easy as normal class teaching. In addition to that the learners are made aware of their environment and are much more willing to protect it because they have been there themselves.
You can't protect anything you don't know.

Тoday we have been very generously shared by ideas about Erasmus projects and how global ideas simply to put down on paper and bring to life. How not to lose sight of the main thing behind big ideas - a subtle connection with students - their real desires and interest. Also today there was a fair of talents and skills of our members of the group. Everyone was just sparkling with their ideas!

Today we had to present the devised international excursion. Everyone had a different competence and therefore very different assignments and subjects. I was able to get ideas from the other excursions. I also learned to look at the assignment differently and that you can be creative. You don't have to think in boxes.

We also brainstormed about internationalization within the schools and how you can start with this in the first year and continue this in the other years.

As a teacher you have a big part, maybe even the biggest part, in making it work. You have a lot of influence on the students in the way they look at the world and other cultures and how they deal with it. It is therefore important that you as a teacher set a good example and support the students in internationalization.

What did I learn today:
That personal motivation is most important for the success of internationalization projects at school. That for the implementation of internationalization throughout your school you always schedule 1 thing per month throughout the entire school year.
That there are 22 different colors of sand on Guadeloupe.
Getting a massage on the beach is an unforgettable experience. 😀

Today I learned about, how to plan an internationalisation project for our school. I learned what to think of and most important the planning. What to do each month. Further more Rita made me realise that we as teachers are the most important tile in the mosaic that makes an educational system. Teachers first!
As a teacher we carry the responsibility to educate our students with a global attitude. We are responsible for breaking down the fixed mindset and teach our students to use a growth mindset and embrace other cultures.

Today I learned how to do an internationalisation project at my school. My project is called: "rebuilding the reef". Our partner schools in France and Germany do the same project and the school in Sainte Anne is also involved. All schools inform their students about the importance of the reefs. Students do sponsored marathons and organise fancy fairs to collect money. Local newspapers are involved as well. The money is send to the school we visited in Sainte Anne and the teacher use the money to buy organic materials are local shops. The rope, reed, wood, bamboo etc. are used by the Guadeloupe students to weave nets that are dropped in the ocean at the destroyed reefs.
