         <description><![CDATA[<div>The American army for the Battle of Palo Alto was lead by General Zachary Taylor, Captain Sam Walker, and Major Ringgold. They went into battle with 3,000 men but only 1,000 of the 3,000 were field soldiers, the rest were heavy artillery troops which used cannons.  During the Battle only 4 men were killed and 42 injured.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Mexican Army was lead by General Mariano Arista, and General Anastasio Terrejon. The lead about 4,000 men, about 2,000 men were field soldiers and 2,000 men were cavalry. They lost about 100 men and wounded 300 men.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Both Sides lined up face to face about 800 yards from each other and American started firing cannons as soon as the Mexican side arrived. After taking cannon fire for awhile the Generals decided the best idea was to charge but the American held up like a wall and it didnt end up good for the Mexicans. Also when the Mexicans decided to retreat the Americans started chasing them doubling the death rate. </div>]]></description>
