If you can instill early on with your students that there is time for play/fun and there is a time for quiet/learning. One way you could do this is having a green and red card at the front of the room. When the card is on green, they know that they can speak without raising their hand, talk to their friends etc. The red card could mean that they have to raise their hand to speak or its quiet time. You can flip the card depending on what you need for your lesson!
